Grant Description
Grants to Montana nonprofit organizations to enhance the quality of life for residents in local communities. Applicants must submit a letter of inquiry prior to submitting an application. Focus areas include arts and humanities, youth and families, health and prevention, and sustainable agriculture. Priority will be given to organizations in Central Montana.

The Browning Kimball Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life through support of youth and families, health with an emphasis on prevention, arts and humanities, and sustainable agriculture. 

The Directors are sensitive to the needs of communities, large and small, and look for mission statements that enhance living conditions for people with all levels of abilities.


Additional Eligibility Criteria
It is a requirement that applicants have a 501(c)(3) designation by the Internal Revenue Service.

Grant Applications Timeline:
- Letter of Inquiry Due: March 1, 2024
- Grant Applications Due: July 15, 2024
- Grantmaking Meeting: September 2024
- Grants Funded: October 2024

Term of Contract
In an effort to promote good governance and fundraising practices, the Browning Kimball Foundation may limit grants to four (4) successive years. At that time, the Board may decided to cease funding.
