Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC)
Grants of up to $10,000 to Montana conservation districts to improve organizational capacity for conservation projects. Funding is intended to support activities that enhance the districts' ability to plan, develop, and implement programs and projects. Grants may be requested for salaries of employees, public outreach, travel expenses, administrative improvements, training, and supplies.
This program will provide funds to increase conservation district employee's hours to assist in planning, securing funding, and implementing programs that improve public outreach, improve conservation district administrative capabilities, and implement conservation plans.
Funds may be requested to plan and implement new conservation projects or programs, organize conservation district education and outreach efforts, and provide on the job-training to other district administrators.
The highest priority will be given to activities that lead to “on the ground conservation” projects. However, if a particular area wants to use the expertise of another district employee to develop web pages, or to provide training for specific topics (Quick Books, payroll, office organization, or web page design) this program will also help pay for those costs.
